The final objective of the project is the development of a range of non-halogenated flame retardant coatings for wood applications. The project will be considered successful if the following objectives are achieved:

• Dosage around or below 10% of halogen-free flame retardant to exhibit equivalent or better properties than current compositions.
• Safety guaranteed in all the life cycle of flame retardant products.
• Avoidance of emissions of flame retardant components during the use of the product.
• Achievement of specific functionalities such as antibacterial activity, high scratch resistance and photo catalytic activity.
